Andrey Smirnov is a rock musician, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Germany. Known for his powerful guitar work, bold compositions, and versatile production skills, he served as guitarist and songwriter for German heavy-metal icons U.D.O. and Dirkschneider, and is also the founder, vocalist, and guitarist of the modern-metal bands Everlost and Nebesa, as well as a solo artist.

From forming his first band at just twelve years old to performing on stages around the globe, Andrey has built a reputation as one of the most expressive and technically gifted guitarists in contemporary rock and metal. His work bridges emotional storytelling and virtuosic performance, rooted in melody, precision, and unrestrained energy.

Andrey Smirnov

Meet Andrey Smirnov, a renowned rock musician, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Germany.

Andrey is the guitarist, composer, and songwriter for German heavy metal giants U.D.O and DIRKSCHNEIDER. He is also the lead vocalist, guitarist, and founder of modern metal band EVERLOST and heavy metal band NEBESA. Andrey began his musical journey at the age of 12 as a founder of his own band, EVERLOST. He’s recorded 5 albums with EVERLOST and 6 solo records. Latest instrumental guitar oriented record “Instrumentology: Vol1” is gonna be released December 31, 2024.

Andrey has played with notable bands such as Paul Di’Anno, Blaze Bayley.

This record continues the musical path I began with Electric Gravity and Instrumentology: Vol. 1 – a collection of riffs, melodies, and moments that speak without words.

Three songs were written especially for the Wacken Open Air 2026 Announcement Show – a huge milestone and true honor for me as a guitarist and composer. The other tracks capture my journey from years of touring with U.D.O. and Dirkschneider, to composing and producing for fellow artists.

Despite everything, music continues to unite us. That’s why this EP is called We Are United. No matter the language, no matter the chaos – the emotion is universal.

It’s been a long journey since my previous release, Electric Gravity (2021). I hope I’ve grown as a player, composer, and person since then. I’ve traveled around the globe several more times with my main bands, U.D.O. and Dirkschneider, and I became a father for the second time. My family and I had to find a new home due to the war…. All of this is reflected in my creative and emotional output. But, man, life goes on, and music has always been a part of it! I bet you’ll like my new creation!
